Dear Mr Sotiriou,

We refer to your message of 02 April 2024 addressed to the Complaints Mechanism of the European Investment Bank (EIB), concerning the Erasinos project. Your message was transferred to the competent services of the EIB on 09 April 2024 and has been handled on the basis of the EIB Group Transparency Policy (EIB-TP)^[1]. 

Regarding the reference to Nature Based Solutions mentioned in your message, the Bank understands that such solutions cannot be considered by the promoter at this advanced stage for a project that has already been designed and tendered. 

The Bank also understands that the update of the “study of the Special Ecological Assessment of the Erasinos stream and the Ag. Georgiou Erasinos” mentioned in your message is currently ongoing and has not been finalised yet. 

We have taken note of your comment regarding the EIB Environmental and Social Data Sheet (ESDS) and would like to clarify that the ESDS is meant to reflect the situation at the time of the EIB appraisal. Please also note that the ESDS covers the entire Flood Protection Measures EIB operation and not only the Erasinos sub-project. 

Finally, regarding your reference to the assessment of the sub-project in line with the Water Framework Directive, we would also like to inform you that this assessment is still ongoing together with other environmental studies carried out for the project. This assessment has not been finalised yet, as it requires complex analysis and coordination with other processes such the EIA and the Appropriate Assessment. The EIB is therefore unable to provide you with a copy of this document at this stage, as it is still being produced and is not held by the Bank^[2].

Η επιστολή κοινοποιήθηκε σε όλα τα μέλη της προσπάθειας διατήρησης της σημερινής καταστάσεως στο Ερασίνο.

Η άποψή μας:
Κατ΄ αυτούς το παιχνίδι είναι χαμένο - αν ερμηνεύω σωστά τα γραφόμενα - και η μόνη πιθανή διέξοδος είναι δια της νομικής οδού (αν και δεν είναι εξασφαλισμένο το αποτέλεσμα πού προσδοκούμε/επιθυμούμε).

Κάνει εντύπωση ότι δεν μας πληροφορούν για τον υπεύθυνο (ανώνυμη επιστολή) ούτε και το όνομα του ειδικού που προσέλαβαν για να βοηθήσει το Πλάνο Διορθώσεων. (CAP).

Υπάρχουν άραγε προτάσεις για το τι κάνουμε και ποιος έχει διάθεση να συνεργαστεί μαζί μου για να αναζητήσουμε λύση;
