 Thank you for your  inquiry into the catastrophic project at Erasinos and your Conclusions Report. 

Please clarify for us if the terms and deadlines (§ 6) you have set in your conclusions report are already binding for the promoter and the EIB or if they have to be accepted by another part of the EIB. In the second case, let us know when this is expected to happen. 

Also let us know if the promoter (Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport of the Hellenic Republic/Directorate of Flood Protection Works or other  competent Greek authority) has been informed of your conclusions.

Dear Mr. Stappas and all, 

Thank you for your email. 

The deadlines provided in the report are for the EIB services. From the time of the issuance of the EIB-CM report, we are monitoring the implementation of the outcomes and how the EIB services are implementing them.

The corrective action plan proposed is to be discuss with all relevant stakeholders. The scope of stakeholders is not limited, as we did not prescribe the exact stakeholders for the promoter to engage. We could not decide on them either.

Please note, that we could not formulate the actions and recommendations directly to the promoter, but to the EIB. This is the limitation of the EIB-CM policy.

The report is now public and can be shared with any interested party. It is available here from our website: Flood Protection Measures (eib.org) the EIB services had to forward it to the promoter and discuss the implementation of the corrective action plan.
